PORT DOUGLAS TROPICAL NORTH QUEENSLAND
Port Douglas or ‘Port’ as it is locally referred to, is situated 1 hour’s
drive north of Cairns in Tropical North Queensland.
Nestled between lush, tropical rainforest and the beautiful Coral Sea,
Port Douglas offers easy access to two of Australia's greatest eco-treasures - the World Heritage
listed Daintree Rainforest & the spectacular Great Barrier Reef.
Port Douglas is situated at the end of a peninsula, the tranquil waters
of a natural harbour on one side of the village embrace a busy marina from where you can start your
sea journey out to the Reef. Along the other side stretches the breathtaking sandy sweep of beautiful
Four Mile Beach.
Port Douglas has a reputation as a holiday destination for the rich and
fashionable with its up-market resort complexes and 5 star eateries. In fact there is a wide range

where visitors can snorkel off the beach or view the spectacular corals, tropical reef fish and
sea turtles from a glass bottom boat and only 1 hour from Port Douglas is a beautiful way to experience
a tropical paradise.

Then there are the World Heritage rainforests. The lush green coastal strip
of the Daintree, Cape Tribulation region to the north is home to some of the oldest forests in the

Sunday Markets or Bally Hooley Steam Train to name a few.
