Tradewinds McLeod Holiday Apartments are situated in the heart of Cairns business area and is located at a peaceful location (being off the main roads) yet only a twenty-minute stroll away from the buzz of the city.

The property is handy to a wide variety of Cairns restaurants and shops, within 5 minutes easy walking distance, alternatively a 3 minute drive or a Taxi (cost approximately $8) will take you to the Major Shopping Complex (Cairns Central), City Heart or Casino and night clubs. Cairns Domestic and International airports just 10 kilometres away taxi cost approximately $15 or Airporter Bus around $4.50 per person and either will bring you to Tradewinds McLeod's holiday apartment accommodation.

The four block palm tree lined Esplanade area has become the new focal point for visitors to Cairns.

Tradewinds McLeod have a full tour desk and can arrange all tours to pick you up at the door. The Great Barrier Reef, Kuranda in the Rainforest by Skyrail and Train, Daintree with its crocodiles or Port Douglas only 45 minutes away are just a taste of the MUST see and do while in Cairns.

The fully fenced tropical entertainment area is well equipped with a large salt water freeform pool and BBQ with gazebo inviting you to relax by the pool and enjoy a BBQ on warm summer nights ALL year round.

There is ample area for off street parking for guests and visitors with a number of under-cover places available.

A PABX phone system connects all apartments with 24-hour direct dial and after office hours an auto system that allows you to have calls directed to your apartment at night. Wake up calls can be arranged via the phone either set in the unit or by reception staff and can be woken in the language of your choice.

Messages will be taken when you are out, an answering machine if you are not at home at night and have fax facilities for your convenience. A safe in available in reception for valuables or passports etc. We also have beach towels available for hire with a small cleaning charge.

Maps bus timetables and tour brochures can be supplied and the property also has a small library of books to select from including children’s books. There are video recorders available for a small fee.

The Tradewinds McLeod holiday apartments have recently been rejuvenated with fresh paint, renewed furniture and a tropical picture to make your stay comfortable with a homely feeling.

All apartments have two bedrooms to accommodate up to four persons with cool air conditioning and ceiling fans and each have its very own private balcony, overlooking our large saltwater pool and tropical gardens or views to the mountains beyond, there are also family apartments which have bunk beds and are ideal for 2 adults and 3 children.

There is a combined spacious lounge dining area to relax after a day out to watch colour television or read your favourite book.

The fully equipped kitchen has all modern conveniences including microwave a dishwasher, included in each apartment is a washing machine and dryer, iron and ironing board so no time lost waiting for that empty laundry.

  • Booking, Charge and Cancellation Policy:
  • At the time of booking, a Non Refundable Deposit equal to 10% of the whole booked stay will be charged.
  • If the booking is cancelled within 14 days of booked arrival, a further 20% of the booked stay will be charged as a cancellation fee.
